We are a RYA Accredited Sailing School (Royal Yachting Association) and an Authorised Agency of SAS (South African Sailing). As such we can assist you in obtaining any of the international certificates accredited by the RYA and endorsed by the MCA, as well as any of the local certificates accredited by SAS. Both the RYA and SAS inspect us annually to ensure compliance with their stringent standards.
Atlantic Yachting Sailing School owns two L34 mono hull yachts. The yachts and our office where the training takes place are based in Club Mykonos Private Resort in Langebaan, near Cape Town. Both yachts are equipped and maintained to comply with the stringent standards of the RYA (Royal Yachting Association) and SAS (South African Sailing) as well as SAMSA’s (South African Marine Safety Authority) Code of Practice for sail training yachts.
Our enthusiastic instructors are professional, experienced and able to impart their knowledge in an easily understandable manner to students. As a result we have one of the highest exam pass rates in the country.

Meet Our Team
Adrian Ceruti – Principal and Co-owner

Adrian has over 12 years’ international experience in the mega yacht industry. He has skippered and crewed on both sailing and motor yachts ranging from 47 ft to 200ft. In addition he has extensive teaching experience on the Langebaan Lagoon and Atlantic Ocean.
He is a RYA Yacht Master Instructor and also acts as one of the small handful RYA Examiners in South Africa.

Hayley Ceruti – Head of Marketing and Co-owner

Hayley has 8 years’ international experience in the Mega Yacht Industry which includes working as a stewardess catering for the rich and famous. She already has 2 ocean crossings to her name and is a competent sailor in her own right.
She has 8 years’ experience in guiding students to make the most suitable sailing course choice and can provide invaluable information for crew wanting to enter the Mega Yacht Industry. |
Lee Brown – RYA Yachtmaster Instructor

Lee is a qualified RYA Yacht Master Instructor since 2008. She has completed 40 360 nautical miles on sea and has been instructing sailing students since 2005. When not instructing, you will probably find her skippering a yacht on the open seas.
Lee’s number one concern is the safety of her students as well as their enjoyment of the sail training experience. |
Roland Kleynjan – RYA Cruising Instructor

Roland has 45 years’ sailing experience. Included in this are 4 years of sailing and sail training for the South African Navy and approximately 22 000 nautical miles on inland and coastal waters. In addition, Roland did interpretive boat trips for 6 years.
He is a qualified RYA Cruising Instructor and is friendly and extremely patient. Roland has an excellent ability to impart his sailing knowledge to students. |
Tanja Joubert – Accounting and Administration

Tanja is a chartered accountant with 16 years’ experience in her profession.
Her easy-going nature will put you at ease and make you feel welcome at our base.
She is responsible for the accounting and admin side of the school. Her highly efficient organizing skills keep things running smoothly. She will sort out any administrative or account queries you might have in a flash. |
Blesswell Nyamiwa – Deckhand / Maintenance

Blesswell is our friendly and efficient deckhand.
As he has some sailing experience, he is the right guy to ensure that our two training yachts are kept in tip-top condition. |
ACTIVITIES IN THE AREA
Langebaan offers a golf course, art galleries, the Laguna Mall, craft shops, running, enjoyable eating experiences at a variety of restaurants and water sports like kite surfing.
The West Coast Mall is situated in Vredenburg, as well as movie theatres.
The West Coast National Park is only ten minutes’ drive from Langebaan. Also close to Langebaan is the Buffelsfontein Game and Nature Reserve and the Elandsfontein Private Nature Reserve.
Nature lovers can enjoy whale watching and bird watching, horse rides and visit the West Coast Fossil Park in the area.
Those who are culturally inclined, can visit !Khwa ttu – the San Culture and Education Centre.
Guided tours to tourist attractions are available.
