Mileage Builder – Approximately 2 500 nautical miles
The mileage trip consist of qualifying passages and miles to help build up your required miles for RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Exam. The instructor accompanying you on the mileage trip will sign off the miles in your log book.
You need to fulfil the following requirements before you can take the RYA/MCA Yachtmaster Offshore Exam:
- 50 days sea time
- 5 days as skipper
- 2500 nautical miles
- 5 passages over 60 nautical miles, including 2 overnight and 2 as skipper
The yacht will depart from and return to Club Mykonos Private Resort.
Sailing destinations are weather-dependant and the instructor will make the final decision about the sailing route.
RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Shorebased (theory) (6 days)
This is an advanced course in navigation and meteorology for candidates for the Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate. The syllabus makes some provision for the revision of subjects in the Day Skipper Course but those who have not acquired the knowledge set out in the Day Skipper Course are unlikely to be able to assimilate all the subjects covered in this advanced course in the time available. The syllabus includes the following topics:

RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Practical (5 days)
This course aims to teach the skills and techniques required to skipper a cruising yacht (7 - 15m LOA) safely on coastal and offshore passages by day and night. The syllabus includes the following topics:
- Passage Planning
- Preparation for sea
- Pilotage
- Passage making ability as skipper
- Yacht handling under power
- Yacht handling under sail
- Adverse weather conditions
- Emergency situations
RYA Preparation Week + RYA/MCA Exam (5 + 2 days)
This course is designed to revise the theoretical and practical aspects of the RYA Yachtmaster Offshore Exams. It is assumed that all aspects of boat handling and theory are familiar to the student and only revision is required.
The following topics are included in the exam preparation:
- COLREGS
- Practical navigation
- Boat Handling (sailing on and off docks, ferry gliding, blind navigation, picking up moorings, tidal stream work etc)
- General Seamanship
- Responsibilities of Skipper
- Safety checks & briefing
Optional beneficial modules (bookings made upon request by student)
These modules are very desirable in the eyes of potential employers and will give you an edge over other job seekers in the yachting industry:

EVENING BEFORE COURSE STARTS (only by prior arrangement)
We can meet you the day before your course starts between 17:00 and 18:00 at our office. Please make arrangements
with our office prior to your arrival.
THE MORNING THE COURSE STARTS
Please meet us at the Atlantic Yachting Office at the Club Mykonos Marina, Agora Square at 08:30. After the first day
theory courses will commence at 08:30am and finish by 17:00.
